A Bit about Esté
Esté is a registered psychologist with more than 30 years of experience in private practice, working with children from the age of three, as well as teenagers and adults. Her deep passion for people, healing, and emotional wellbeing shapes her gentle, holistic approach to therapy.
She is also an internationally registered equine-assisted psychotherapist, working alongside horses as part of her therapeutic team. At Strathearn Stables, the natural setting and the intuitive presence of the horses create a safe, grounding space where clients are supported in reconnecting with themselves, healing, and growing. This approach honours resilience, strength, and the beauty found within each individual’s journey.
About equine assisted psychotherapy
At Strathearn Stables, equine-assisted psychotherapy is centred on the unique and powerful connection between humans and horses. Horses are highly intuitive prey animals, naturally attuned to non-verbal communication, emotional energy, and intention. Without judgement or expectation, they respond honestly to what we bring into their presence, often reflecting patterns, emotions, and inner experiences that may otherwise remain unspoken.
Within this process, horses create an opportunity for self-awareness and insight. Through guided interaction, individuals are gently supported in exploring emotions, behaviours, and relational patterns in a way that feels natural and grounded. The horse acts as a mirror, offering immediate and authentic feedback that can help bring clarity to underlying challenges and promote meaningful personal growth.
Strathearn Stables provides a calm, safe, and supportive environment where this work can unfold at an unhurried pace. Sessions are facilitated by trained professionals who ensure that each experience is respectful, ethical, and tailored to the individual. The natural setting, combined with the presence of the horses, encourages a sense of calm, connection, and emotional regulation.
In this space, many people experience moments of stillness, clarity, and renewed perspective. These moments can open the door to deeper understanding, resilience, and healing—supported by the quiet strength and sensitivity of the horse, and grounded in a relationship built on trust and presence.
